  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup or 80 ml Milk

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Butter and line the baking tin.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the sugar, butter, egg and vanilla extract. 
  3. When the butter has softened, beat till everything is frothy and combined. 
  4. Note that the sugar is not grainy and the mixture turns into a pale yellow colour.
  5. Sieve the flour, baking powder and baking salt directly into the above mixture. If you are adding a pinch of salt, add it to the mixture directly.
  6. Stir gently just to combine (use a spatula preferably).
  7. Add the chopped walnuts. 
  8. Bake at 180°C 25-30 minutes. A rod inserted into the center should come clean. Let cool completely before removing from the tin.
