And especially if it’s a chocolate cake, I must say, it’s a sin to say No to the delicious treat. The mushy cake filled with velvety smooth Rich Chocolate Cream is surely something you cannot resist. Especially, if it is topped with chocolate glaze and adorned with walnuts, I bet you there’s not one one reason to resist a bite or two.

So, here comes the recipe to bake one at home- the Chocolate Walnut cake.



  • All-purpose flour: 1/3 cup
  • Coffee granules: 1 teaspoon
  • Egg: 1 large
  • Unsweetened cocoa: 1/2 cup
  • Egg whites: 3 large
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Granulated sugar, divided: 2/3 cup
  • Boiling water: 1/2 cup
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Walnut halves, toasted and divided: 1/2 cup
  • Oil: 2 tablespoons


  • Unsweetened cocoa: 1/3 cup
  • Boiling water: 1/4 cup
  • Semisweet chocolate chips: 1/4 cup
  • Coffee granules: 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dark corn syrup: 1 tablespoon
  • Powdered sugar: 1 cup


  1. Preheatthe oven to 350° F.
  2. Coat the 9-inch cake tin with butter or oil and place parchment paper in it.

Preparing the Cake…

  1. Now, sieve cocoa powder, baking powder and flour together in a bowl and add boiling water to the mixture. Let the mixture stand for 20 minutes.
  2. With an electric beater, beat egg whites at high speed.
  3. While you continue to beat the mixture, make sure you add the aforementioned quantity of granulated sugar gradually, 1 tablespoon at a time.
  4. Now, combine the sieved flour mixture and the beaten eggs and mix them well slowly.

Quick Tip: The mixture is ready when it becomes fluffy and creamy.

  1. Add some milk to make the batter smooth.

   Optional: You may add chopped walnuts to make a crunchy-mushy base.

  1. Now that the batter is smooth and ready, pour the contents into the preheated pan and bake it for 35-40 minutes.

Quick TipCheck the doneness of the cake by inserting the wooden toothpick. If it comes out clean, the cake is done.

  1. When the cake is done, let it cool off for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

Preparing the Glaze…

  1. Take cocoa powder, chocolate chips, dark corn syrup, coffee granules, boiling water and combine them into a smooth paste by stirring continuously.
  2. Now, add the aforementioned quantity of Vanilla extract and stir some more.
  3. Place a lid over the mixture and let it chill for nearly 1 hour
  4. Make the paste smooth and thick by adding powdered sugar to this mixture and beat at a medium speed.
  5. It’s time to slowly pour the mixture over the cake as well as on the sides to give it a luscious appeal. Garnish the walnut halves on the top of the cake.
