The best part is that you do not need complicated ingredients or professional baking skills to make them. Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup plain flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup Nutella
  • 2 tablespoons chopped hazelnuts, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease a mini muffin tin lightly with butter or cooking spray. You can also line the cavities with small paper liners for easier removal.
  2. Add the melted butter and granulated sugar to a large mixing bowl. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Add the cocoa powder, salt and vanilla extract. Mix until everything comes together into a smooth chocolate mixture.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Continue mixing until the batter looks glossy and slightly thick.
  5. Sift the plain flour into the bowl and gently fold it into the chocolate mixture. Mix only until no visible flour remains. Avoid overmixing the batter.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips. If you are using chopped hazelnuts, add them at this stage for extra crunch.
  7. Spoon a small amount of brownie batter into each mini muffin cavity, filling it about halfway.
  8. Add around ½ teaspoon of Nutella to the centre of each portion. Cover with another small spoonful of brownie batter so the Nutella stays inside.
  9. Bake for around 12–15 minutes. The tops should look set while the centres should still feel slightly soft.
  10. Remove the pan from the oven and allow the brownie bites to cool for about 5–10 minutes.
  11. Carefully remove the brownie bites from the tin and place them on a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. For an extra Nutella touch, drizzle a little warmed Nutella over the cooled brownie bites before serving.

What Are Brownie Bites?

Brownie bites are miniature versions of classic brownies, baked in small portions instead of a large tray. Their small size makes them easy to serve, share and enjoy without needing to cut an entire batch into squares.

The edges develop a slightly firm texture while the centre stays soft and fudgy. They are especially convenient for birthdays, parties, dessert tables and lunchboxes. You can also customise them with chocolate chips, nuts or a Nutella filling depending on how indulgent you want them to be.

What’s the Secret to Moist Brownie Bites?

  • The biggest secret to moist brownie bites is avoiding overbaking.
  • Keep an eye on them during the final few minutes because small brownies cook much faster than a full-sized batch.
  • Do not add too much flour, as this can make the brownies dry and cakey.
  • Using melted butter helps create a rich and tender texture.
  • Allow the brownie bites to cool before removing them from the tin. This gives the centres time to set without losing their fudgy texture.
  • For extra moisture and flavour, a Nutella centre works particularly well with the chocolate brownie base.

Common Brownie Bites Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don’t overmix the batter after adding the flour. Too much mixing can affect the texture and make the brownie bites less tender.
  • Avoid filling the mini muffin cavities right to the top, as the batter can rise while baking.
  • Make sure your oven is properly preheated before placing the brownie bites inside.
  • Do not wait for the centres to become completely firm before removing them from the oven. A few moist crumbs on a toothpick are fine.
  • Let the brownie bites cool slightly before removing them, as they can be delicate when they are still hot.

Small in size but big on chocolate flavour, these brownie bites are an easy way to turn a classic dessert into a fun, shareable treat. The fudgy brownie base combined with a gooey Nutella centre makes every bite rich without requiring a complicated recipe.

Serve them warm, add a little extra Nutella on top or simply enjoy them as they are. Once you make a batch, you may find that these bite-sized brownies disappear much faster than expected.
