  • 250g bittersweet chocolate, roughly chopped or broken
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp. instant espresso powder
  • 3 sticks unsalted butter, well softened
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar

Preparation

  1.  Put the water to low simmer and place a heatproof bowl over saucepan to create a double boiler.
  2.  Add chocolate to the simmering water and keep stirring so that the chocolate does not burn. Continue stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  3.  Remove bowl from pan and stir in salt, vanilla an espresso powder.
  4.  Now, let the chocolate cool but do not let it become hard.
  5.  In a bowl, add butter and beat on high speed until smooth. Gradually, add 1/2 cup of chocolate till the entire chocolate is added and keep beating the mixture.
  6.  Next, turn off the mixture and sift confectioner’s sugar into the mixture and for about 2 minutes., beat until the mixture is thick and smooth.

 2. Espresso Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 1/2 tsp. instant espresso powder
  • 3 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation

  1.  In a small bowl, mix together espresso powder and vanilla extract and stir the mixture with fork until espresso is completely incorporated.
  2.  Now, in a separate bowl, beat butter until till becomes smooth and gradually add sugar until the frosting is mixed well.
  3.  Combine the two mixtures beat for 1 to 2 minutes until they are incorporated well and become light and fluffy.

  • 2 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 cup cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature

Preparation

  1.  In a bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until the mixture becomes smooth.
  2.  Add vanilla and beat further to incorporate the same into the mixture.
  3.  Add sifted confectioner’s sugar (1 cup at a time). Begin beating at low speed and increase the speed to medium.
  4.  Continue adding sugar and mixing the mixture until the sugar is Incorporated and the mixture becomes smooth.

Ingredients:

  • 3 sticks unsalted butter, well softened
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1 heaping cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted

Preparation

  1.  In a bowl, take the unsalted butter and beat well until smooth.
  2.  Now add sugar and beat the mixture first at low speed and then, gradually increase the speed to medium until the mixture is completely smooth.
