Unfrosted, Uncut Cake:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wrap the cake in the plastic bag from sides, bottom and not the top. Next, use a plastic bag with a zip lock seal to put the cake in and store in a room temperature. The good news is this can be stored for nearly a week. However, if it\u2019s an oil based cake, it will last one or two days longer than the butter based cakes.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Frosted, Uncut Cake<\/strong><\/p>\n

If the cake is frosted, it will naturally act like a plastic wrap and protect the cake from moisture. At room temperature, a frosted cake can last for 4 to 5 days. Just cover the cake from the dust and environment with a cake keeper or an overturned bowl.<\/p>\n

Cut Cake, Frosted\/ Unfrosted<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once the cake is cut, it paves way for the moisture to escape more quickly causing it to stale more quickly. The best way to save the cake for a little long is to cover the cut portion with some frosting and cover the cake just like an unfrosted, uncut one.<\/p>\n

Is Refrigeration Necessary?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Unless the temperature is humid or very warm, cakes in room temperature are perfectly okay to be saved. But when you are placing the cake in refrigerator, wrap it in plastic to protect it from two things. One, the fridge smell; next, from drying out. And when you need it again, unwrap the cake and warm it before serving.<\/p>\n
