Cut in 1\/4 cup butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>For Cake<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Line two 20cm round sandwich tins with greaseproof paper or reusable baking tin liners.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add the butter and sugar to a bowl and whisk until very fluffy and pale.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, baking powder and salt, 3\/4 cup sugar. Cut in 1\/2 cup butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Crack an egg into a measuring cup and then add milk. Add vanilla essence and stir properly. Pour into crumb mixture and mix just until rinsed. Spread into a prepared pan. Sprinkle top with streusel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bake for 55 to 65 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>For Icing<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the coffee cake is baking, In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk and maple syrup until<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> you have a smooth shiny glaze.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the cake is baked, take it out of the oven and transfer the pan to a wire rack, and cool slightly.
