Do you recall how grandma\u2019s and our mother\u2019s used to get secretive about <\/span>Holi gujiya recipe<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">? By far, it has to be everyone\u2019s one of the most precious childhood memories. Since that day till today, we miss those <\/span>Holi ki gujiya<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, for sure. But no more FOMO, as the <\/span>best gujiya recipe<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been unveiled.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, here\u2019s presenting a <\/span>gujiya recipe with mawa <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that is sure to be a major hit across your Holi house party or just to satiate your <\/span>Holi gujiya<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> cravings. With changing times, the <\/span>recipe for gujiya<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has gone through its own period of changes and has resulted in giving rise to quite a few interesting recipes. While through this blog the traditional khoya gujiyas recipe has been conveyed to all, but over the internet, one might find some chocolate gujiya, bhaang gujiya, jam gujiya, halwa gujiya and rabri gujiya. Mostly, across all its varieties, the fillings differ. Also, as people are health-conscious, these days the act of frying has been shifted to baking. Without any further ado, let\u2019s start discussing the <\/span>recipe for gujiya<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the traditional way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1874 size-full\" title=\"How To Make Gujiyas\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bakingo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/image-1-4.jpg\" alt=\"make best gujiya ever \" width=\"650\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Ingredients &#8211;<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>For gujiya dumpling\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 cup whole wheat flour\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 cups of all-purpose flour or 2 cups of whole wheat flour<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bc teaspoon salt<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2153 to \u00bd cup water or as required<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 tablespoon ghee<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For gujiya filling<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 cup khoya<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bd tablespoon ghee<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2153 cup chopped dry fruits<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2153 cup powdered sugar\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bd teaspoon cardamom powder<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start by making the soft dough of all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour and salt in a bowl.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0To do so, heat the pan and add ghee. Pour the melted ghee over the flour mixture.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add water and begin to knead the dough. After doing so, cover the dough with a moist cloth and keep aside for half an hour.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the filling, take another bowl and crumble khoya, chop dry fruits and keep it aside.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take a pan and melt ghee on low flame, then add crumbled khoya. Cook it till the khoya starts to gather around. Let the khoya cool.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Further, add powdered sugar, chop dry fruits and cardamom powder.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mix well and then the stuffing aside. Check the sweetness, if needed add more sugar to suit your preference.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take the soft dough of flour and roll each into a small ball of having 4 to 5 inches diameter.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can spill some flour on the rolling surface so that the dough doesn\u2019t stick the surface while rolling. But make sure, you don\u2019t end up adding too much flour.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then add water on the edge of the circumference of each circle of the dough.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Place some amount of khoya stuffing on one side of the circle and make sure to keep the edges empty. Don\u2019t add too much of stuffing, as the gujiya might end up breaking while frying.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carefully bring the edges together and gently press the edges to seal the opening. Trim the extra edges with the help of gujiya cutter or pizza cutter or you can even make a pleated design at the edges.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heat ghee in a pan and deep fry each of the dumplings till golden brown.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">there you go with the <\/span><b>recipe of gujiya with khoya<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that will surely melt the heart of your loved ones into tears.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Can one imagine a Holi celebration without spreading the joy over some homemade ghee- fried gujiyas?
